Just a reminder that all time sheets should be closed and uploaded by end of the relevant Friday or failing that by end of the next Monday.
Best practise though is to record time as you work on a matter using the smart timer system and to upload your time on a daily basis (after adding accurate narratives). This ensures that the time recorded accurately reflects the time taken to complete the work rather than under or over estimating the time taken after the event. In the later case, this would mean potentially over charging the client (which is not acceptable). Recording time accurately is simply part of our duties as employees of (and partners in)the firm.
Please bear in mind that we are moving to a system where busyness figures for all lawyers are shared amongst partners in all offices in the region (this is already the case with banking) so that we can ensure that work is properly spread amongst lawyers in the offices. Our ability to recruit is also basically tied to meeting minimum (i.e. 100%) busyness levels.
