In regard to ecological validity, this study was conducted in five Catholic high
schools in classrooms with teachers during a regular school day within a mathematics
class time period. As far as I know, the survey administrator did not influence the
outcomes of the study. She was a certified teacher not known to the participants in the
study. The students were told that their opinions were important and to be as honest and forthright as possible when thinking about their day-to-day classroom nvironments.
