A wearable wireless cardiopulmonary sound sensing system with an ultra-low-power sound sensor stick connected to the wireless mobile network is proposed in this work. The system is composed of three parts, namely, the sound sensor stick, the portable base station (PBS) which is usually a smart phone, and a remote data center. A dedicated ultra-low-power transceiver pair designed for the sensor stick and the PBS is also presented. A prototype system has been built, and the experimental results are given to validate the proposed system for life time tracing of cardiopulmonary sounds.
