To alleviate exploitation by employers of the workplace where labor collective establishment such as labor union for employer-employee bargaining is not applicable;
- To increase labor’s income to be sufficient with the higher living expenses within the excess labor supply in the market;
- To ensure a fair wage payment from employers in the competitive market where employers tend to race to the lowest cost of production. By fixing minimum wage, employers can also compete at the same circumstance of production cost; and
- To redistribute income in order to promote economic growth whereby employees are paid fairly and self-sustained.
