the selected villages and all the women in the reproductive
age group (15–49 years) identified and were included in
the. If the house was locked or any female member of
reproductive age group was not present a second visit to the

excluded from the study. A total of 1,012 women in the
reproductive age group (15–49 years) were examined
clinically for goiter after taking informed consent.
