The use of composting technology for remediation of contaminated soil has been well documented in published literature[13,14–16]. Siebielec and Chaney [16] applied compost and other soil amendments to remediate contaminated soil from a military site in Aberdeen area of Maryland, United States. The study shows that, addition of lime to biosolid compost was very effective in removing metals in polluted soils. The study of Mangkoedihardjoet al. [17] was able to remove 50% of hexavalent chromium inchromium eluted-soil using the combined compost and plant technology.
