Compared to the control group, the leprosy survivor group had a
significantly higher prevalence of sarcopenia (38.7% vs. 5.6%;
P = 0.002, Fig. 1). Obesity (41.7% vs. 22.2%; P = 0.092), abdominal
obesity (30.6% vs. 25.0%; P = 0.754) and sarcopenic obesity (19.4%
vs. 5.6%; P = 0.180) were also more frequent in the leprosy survivor
group, although the differences were not statistically significant.
