3.2. Health condition and growth performance
During the trial, no health problems were associated to the dietary treatments or diseases: only two animals died at different times of the experimental period and no animal displayed feed intake reduction, weight loss, or diarrhoea during the trial.
The increase of dietary starch from 60 to 147 g/kg improved growth performance during the post-weaning period (Table 4): both daily weight gain (4.6%) and feed conversion ratio (13.7%) linearly improved (P
