We refer to the issue of tint ability on Trivex. We have tried tintable HC but it can still cause blotches when the tint rushes into the base material in only some areas and not others.
We of course used the NXT pre-tint Trivex but supplies from NXT seem to be diminishing also solid material does cause a colour difference when surfaced for higher minus powers. Also it was just 15% dark this or that, not facilitating the choices in transmission customers enjoy with CR39 etc.
So it would suggest the only option is a front surface CR39 laminate onto a Trivex blank! so that we might tint the front. It would need to come in at half the price of Transitions Trivex or better! So have you the technology?
