graphicanalysis,inclusionanalysis,EPMAandEDSwereimplemented.SEMshowsthat
cleavagefractureisthemainfeatureofthefracturesurface,accordingtowhichitcanbe
decided thatthefractureisbrittlefracture.XRFandcarbonandsulphuranalyzerindicate
regular compositionconditionoftheplate.EPMAandEDSsuggestphosphorussegregation
spread alotaroundthecrack.Theresultsindicatethat:brittlenesscausedbyphosphorus
segregationaroundcrackzoneisthemainreasonthatcracksgenerateinthe12Cr13steel
during forging.Asallweknow,phosphorushasdeleteriouseffectontoughnessofsteel
because ofitsenrichmentongrainboundaries,whichcanweakenthebondstrengthof
grain boundary.Itsexistenceshouldbeavoidedandmicrostructureofthesteelshouldbe
homogeneouswhengoodplasticityandtoughnessarewanted.
