Motility and pili coding genes involved in swarming and biofilm formation were detected in strains 19SMN4T and ST27MN3·. Secretion systems of types II and VI, together with genes GacS/Rsm related to system VI, were also found. Sugars might be metabolized by the gly- colytic or pentose phosphate pathway. Genes were detected for the characteristic phenotypic traits of Stutzerimonas spp.: starch hydrolysis (amylase genes related to dextrin and maltose catabolism), and a com- plete set of genes for dissimilatory denitrification and assimilatory nitrate reduction were detected. Genes related to efflux pumps, such as mexA, mexB and oprM, involved in beta‐lactam resistance were found, as well as genes for the multidrug resistance efflux pump, mtd. Poly‐beta‐hydroxybutyrate synthesis and phasin genes were also found.
