This course will be an introduction to hyperbolic geometry in dimension 2 and 3. References
are “Fuchsian groups” by Katok, “Automorphisms of surfaces of surfaces” by Casson and Bleiler,
Thurston’s notes on 3-manifold geometry, and Hubbard’s book on Teichmüller theory.
We will start with the uniformization theorem, which connects the world of complex analysis
with hyperbolic geometry
