One interesting finding was race/ethnicity did not predict receiving mother’s advice. Our finding was not supported in a previous HPV study of Hispanic, Asian Pacific Islander, and White college women. The results suggest the types of maternal influence are essential to understand how to help daughters make informed decisions about health issues.Further research is needed to find insights into how health advice received from mothers and given to mothers may influence health decisions. In addition, sensitivity for some health topics and cultural differences may be explored for mother–daughter discussions.
