4. Discussion
In the present studies, four seaweed species were tested for their yield and antimicrobial activity.Extracts obtained from different seaweed species inhibited bacteria differently possibly due to different in their biochemical composition and effect of environment, maturity and method of extraction(Zubia, Payri,@ Deslandes, 2008).While avariety of solvents have been employed in screening seaweeds for antimicrobial activity, the kind of solvent suitable for the most effective extraction of seaweeds is still vague (Zheng, Chen, @ Lu, 2001).Cox, Abu-Ghhannam, and Gupta (2010) reported that extraction of antimicrobials from different species of seaweeds were solvent dependent, he noted
