variousmetals fromsoil andwater during their development.Moreover,
some metals can also be incorporated into biodiesel during storage and
production, and these will therefore be part of the final composition of
the biodiesel.
Fromthe analytical point of view, the Na, K, Ca and Mg
monitoring into biodiesel plays a very important role because of the
presence ofmetallic elements that even at lowconcentrations can affect
the engine performance, decrease the oxidative stability of biodiesel,
cause corrosion problems, poison catalysts, and indicate possible
contamination during transportation or storage
