In addition to examining the data statistically, it was
beneficial to review the data set for valuable inferences
from the raw data. Of note, 6 participants scored 100%
on the pretest and the posttest, resulting in a zero
increase in participant knowledge. Among the 6, a heterogeneous
group was observed, with nurses ranging in
age
from 22 to 49 years and experience from 0 to 28 years.
The
educational levels also varied in this group. When
examining
individual paired scores, it is important to
note
that all participants experienced either an increase
or
stagnation from the pretest score. Likewise, no
decreases
in score were noted on the posttest results. In
addition
to the group of 6 participants scoring 100% on
both
tests, 3 other participants scored 90% on both
tests.
The remaining 13 participants experienced an increase in score on the posttest that ranged from 10%
to 40%, with a mean score increase of 16.9%. All participants
scored at least 80% on the posttest, indicating
success
in meeting the intended benchmark for participant
knowledge.
