I was at the Coronation Hall yesterday and went into the Queen Sirikit Fabric Hall. I was reaaly impressed with the silk they had there. I had not seen anything like it even in CHiang Mai. They had a store there that was run by the SUPPORT Group that sells the silk but it had closed at 2:00 so I wasn't able to see what they had. Everthing I saw in Chiang Mai was the same old thing and you never know who to trust as there is so much fake product.
I did have one girl in America ask me about the Thai silk but I had not been to Surin so I could not really give her much information.
Unfortunately , where I live people do not have a lot of money and shop at Wal-Mart (Tesco) and want everything cheap. They do not seem to appreciate upscale product. I am just starting to work with a store in a tourist area near the beach and I bought a lot of jewelry and bone carvings in Bali to sell to them. I will ask if they have any interest in the silk.
You should have found a new job before you quit the other one. Sorry it was not working out for you. Not so easy to find a new job.
I have one connection in Los Angeles who is a beautiful Thai woman but she comes here on a regular basis to buy the textiles. I will see if I can find her email address though I don't think I still have it. Maybe you will find something she does not have that you could provide as a buyer but she is a tough negotiator.
