Government during the Middle Ayutthaya Period
The power of theKing became more centralised because of reforms in government and state administration. The King stopped sending high ranking members of his own family to rule the provinces. This stopped other members of his family building up separate power centres, from which they could overthrow him. Instead heappointed aristocrats from the central government to rule under the supervision of officials from Ayutthaya. They had to report regularly to those officials in the capital.
