NEXT year’s Glastonbury headliners are in the bag.
After revealing that FOO FIGHTERS and COLDPLAY are playing Friday and Sunday night, I can now tell you that MUSE will join them at the top of the bill.
The British rockers, led by frontman MATT BELLAMY, know their way around Worthy Farm, having played the famous Pyramid Stage twice before, in 2004 and 2010.
Their signing alongside the Foos and Coldplay is sure to be well received by music purists who have been wound up by the invasion of hip-hop signings such as last year’s Saturday act KANYE WEST, complaining the festival is moving away from its rock roots.
It’s also good early work by festival organisers MICHAEL EAVIS and daughter EMILY to get them signed on the dotted line with more than six months to go.
A source said: “Muse are a Glastonbury no-brainer for a headline booking. They know what it takes to put on a huge show and there’s no bigger stage than the Pyramid.
“Matt and the boys have a huge back catalogue that will be brilliant for a Saturday night set.
“This year’s line-up is as rock and roll as the Eavises could have hoped for. They were keen to book the headliners early and they’ve done exactly that.
