Make Access to all Components Comfortable
Searching for information in a public environment causes
inconvenience and embarrassment to children with visual
impairment, particularly when the facilities are shared with
other people (Siu 2011). Thus, comfortable access to all
components not only means physical comfort, but also
psychological comfort. For example, according to the
observations on completing an assigned task in the workshop,
children with visual impairment usually needed to
spend longer ‘‘reading’’ the operating instructions for new
facilities. Thus, it is necessary that children with visual
impairment can access facilities easily and comfortably,
without causing inconvenience and embarrassment to other
people or themselves. As pointed out by the NGO workers,
providing priority access to some CAL facilities at certain
times is important and can help to eliminate indirect
discrimination.
