examined 800 strains
of E. rhusiopathiae isolated from pigs affected by erysipelas and concluded
that the field isolates belonging to a specific RAPD type, namely RAPD
1–2, were Koganei strains. The RAPD genotyping method appeared to
be useful for discriminating the vaccine from field isolates. However,
some strains of serovar 1b also belong to the RAPD 1–2 type (Nagai
et al., 2008).
