Currently the movement towards higher education in
nursing is increasing at an accelerated speed. In 1998, there
were 31 Associate Degree programs and 18 Baccalaureate
Degree programs, but by the year 2000, Associate Degree
Nursing programs had increased to 99, and Baccalaureate
programs of nursing to 42, whereas, secondary level nursing
programs remained the same at 530 in both years. Of
these, seven institutions also offered Masters Degree graduate
programs in nursing
