ASC recognizes that much of the programs relevant to SOGIE has been concentrated on certain segments of the LGBTIQ community. For example, transgender advocates have articulated that programs that have involved them were mostly focused on HIV and AIDS. On the other hand, groups of transmen and intersex persons have not been engaged much into regional work. For the second year, ASC will prioritize engagements with transgender persons, intersex persons, and LGBTIQ persons in situations of poverty, those with disability, from indigenous communities and migrant workers.
ASC will support the capacity of the least-reached LGBTIQ persons through involvement in regional level discussions such as ILGA Asia and the ACSC/APF, and participation in learning sessions, trainings and workshops.
