4. Discussion
National or international biodosimetry networks are established to enhance the biodosimetry capacity as DCA, the gold standard biodosimetry method, is highly time consuming and the capacity of one lab might be overwhelmed facing a large number of cases to be analyzed for radiation exposure. Besides, biodosimetry networks also facilitate labs in carrying out collaborative research works towards developing improved and novel solutions for routine and triage biodosimetry and quality assurance (Royet al., 2004). Although many such inter-laboratory comparisons on DCA have already been carried out worldwide for establishing biodosimetry networks, this is thefirst ILC study from India for both routine and triage applications of DCA.
