Lex and you weren’t exclusive, no matter how many hints you would give him about wanting to be. For someone so smart, he was pretty dense when it came to all this romantic stuff, not that you could blame him. He had a hard time believing anyone–let alone you–would want to be with him. His own father didn’t want him, so why would you? No matter how many times you tried to reassure his fears he just wouldn’t budge. Although you hated it, there was one more card you had left to play: make him jealous.
You scoped out the crowd for someone, whether they were good looking or not, to use to your advantage only for someone to come to you instead.
“Y/N Mikaelson,” Bruce Wayne stood in front of you, drink in hand with a smirkish smile, “I didn’t expect to see you here.”
“I was kind of forced,” You answered, smiling.
He chuckled, “You’re at least having fun, right?”
“Now that you’re here, I am.” That was pretty smooth, Y/N.
He opened his mouth to reply, only to be cut short by another’s voice, “Bruce Wayne.” The person was good-looking with his dorky glasses, black slicked-back hair and a wonderful pair of blue eyes. “Clark Kent, Daily Planet.” He introduced himself, “I was wondering if I could get a quote on the bat vigilante problem in Gotham.”
“I’m a little busy,” Bruce replied, gesturing to you.
Clark took notice you, his pupils dilating in size, “You’re Y/N Mikaelson. You’re in charge of all LexCorp projects.”
“That I am,” You smiled brightly, “And you’re a reporter. I think I’ve read a few of your articles, actually.”
“Care for a drink? I would love to discuss a few things about your boss.”
“Sorry, Y/N and I were in the middle of a conversation,” Bruce answered before you could.
“I’m sure she wouldn’t mind taking a few minutes to answer a few questions, Mr. Wayne.”
Oh. You looked at both men as they shared a glared. You placed a hand on both of their chests, “Boys, boys, we have all night to talk.”
Clark broke his gaze from Bruce’s and looked at you instead with a sheepish smile, opening his mouth to speak only to be silenced by another voice.
“Bruce Wayne meets Clark Kent. I love it!” Here we go, “I love bringing people together!”
