Care workers must recognise and report any changes
in an individual’s personal hygiene by carrying out
an assessment of the individual’s abilities and medical
conditions. They should pay particular attention to
skin hair, teeth, nails and feet and look out for changes,
such as swelling, rashes, heat, discoloration, smell and
any localised irritations or infestation.
