10. Fibere pads should be riveted to the clamp faces, otherwise soft and fragile workpiece can get damaged.
11. A clamp should be designed to deliver the requird clamping force when operated by the smallest force expected
12. A clamp should be strong enough to eithstand the reaction imposed upon it when the largest expected operating force is applied.
13. Clamping pressure should be directed towards the point of support, otherwise work will tend to rise from its support, Fig 1.21
