Due to the American’s Cup the port was reformed in 2007 and the sport port Royal Marine Juan Carlos I hosts one of the most surprising architecture of the city: the building Veles and Vents, work of David Chipperfield and Fermin Vásquez. From a distance, it doesn’t seem bigger that a chalet. But as you go closer its big block of 10.500 square meters is revealed. Its 25 meters of height is sectioned by four white horizontal platforms.
On these platforms is gathered the habitats of Valencia every Sunday to admire the docks and the channel between them. Around it there is a playground, wooden terraces, an excellent choice to have a drink and the large breakwater specially designed for walks while the sail boats enter to the marine.
