A typical architecture consists of several buses, functional
units,control unit,
register files and load store units as shown in Fig. 4.
If all the ports of FUs and RFs are connected to all the buses
of TTA then it is referred as fully connected. In the other case which
is reduced connected, ports of the FUs and RFs are connected only
to a subset of buses. Unlike other VLIW architectures, scaling up
TTA is much less complex because the functional units and inter-
connection network are completely independent of each other.
The drawback of a TTA, as well as of other VLIW architectures, is
the growth of its instruction word. Code compression can be used
to minimize the instruction code size [16].
