How do we motivate our children and students? This is a question I get often
from both teachers and parents. Many times when students are not doing well in
school it is due to a lack of motivation or not being willing to try in fear of failure.
The Eagle Ridge Academy School of Logic and School of Rhetoric staff looked
at these questions on our professional development day last Friday. As a staff,
we were able to take away many ideas that can be brought back to the
classroom and school. One of the articles we read focused on how parents can
help motivate children in school. “Motivating the unmotivated student; a way to
help your child plan for the future” was a great article for parents to better
understand why your child might be unmotivated and how to help at home
