The following colour code shall apply to push buttons and indicating lamps throughout the installation
Green
Push buttons - “Start” for single speed motors.
- “Start-high speed” for 2 speed motors.
Lamps - Motor(single speed) - Running
- Motors (2 speed) - Running
- Circuit breakers - Closed
Amber
Push buttons - “Start –low speed: for 2 speed motors
Lamps - Motors (2 speed) - Running on low speed
Red
Push buttons - “stop”
Lamps - Warning, danger, alarm, abnormal condition.
Blue
Lamps - “Heater on”.
White
Lamps - “Supply Available: and all other duties.
Fuses and Miniature Circuit Breakers
Fuses shall be of the cartridge-type with a rupturing capacity in excess of the short circuit in the protected circuit.
As an alternative to the lesser rated fuses, miniature circuit breakers of an approved make may be used.
Miniature circuit breakers using the thermal type over current protection shall be fully independent of changes in ambient temperature.
Sequence Start
Automatic sequential start of essential loads shall be arranged.
Preferential Tripping
Preferential tripping shall be arranged.
