Assess openness to learning
In any organization, development opportunities are finite. Not every employee will get the opportunity to join a committee, lead a project, or attend an important conference. Allot opportunities to employees who are most open to learning.
Employees who gain the most from developmental assignments are: Self-aware. They’re able to reflect on what they learn and apply those lessons to do their jobs better.
Curious. They are interested in what other people can teach them.
