It doesn't seem like the price would warrant it. If you're in a private school, and everyone buys their own, fine. Try it there and see if there's any PROOF that they increase learning.
With most kids they're apt to lose, drop, sell, and steal these items. Also, most districts don't have the money to buy them and there's no evidence that they'll improve learning. Such technology quickly becomes obsolete, hence worthless.
Also we need to think about the environmental problems concerning disposing of thousands of these nice phones after a couple years of use.
There are better ways to use educational funds.
