• The cranberry belongs to the family Ericaceae.
• It is different from the small cranberry (Vaccinium oxycoccos).

Cranberries are available fresh and frozen and in juice and concentrate forms. Dried berries are also available in tablet or capsule form.
Precautions
• Cranberry contains high levels of oxalate which may increase the risk of kidney stones.
• It should not be used as a substitute for antibiotics during UTI.
