The purposes of this study was to produce a 3-D cartoon animation on how to basically produce books or reading materials and measure the effectiveness of the 3-D cartoon animation used in conveying the message of how to basically produce books and to evaluate viewers’ satisfactions from the 3-D cartoon animation by specialists in printing technology field and multimedia field. There are 30 students as target group, Test to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the learning process: pre- and post-evaluation test, which evaluate the pleasure. Result of the lesson efficiency (E1/E2): E1 is 90.20. E2 is 91.45. The 90.20/91.45 value is higher than the 80/80 criteria. While Epre is 27.79, Epost is 90.20. This results in a difference of as much as 62.41, which meets the criteria that to become effective, the value must be higher than 60. Result of sample group’s satisfaction to the 3-D cartoon animation: an overall average score is 4.21. Satisfaction in each aspect is more than 4.00 on average. As a result, 3-D animation is good for any person who is interested in the basic book production process by study from 3-D cartoon animation
