Countries such as France, Italy and China are examples of such economies. To illustrate, countries like Germany and Japan have adopted the long-term approach whereby the interests of stakeholders are considered rather than simply of shareholders. This means these MNEs can offer its employees long-term employment. German trade unions are considered as a powerful stakeholder in the labour market and have the right of 'collective bargaining', i.e. employers need to so consult their workers before any major changes are carried out.
