network. There were significant differences in drinking frequency between
at-risk drinkers' (median = 4, ‘once a week’), light drinkers'
(median = 3, ‘once a month’), and nondrinkers' alters (median = 1,
‘not in the past year’; Z = 37.08, p b .001; r = .41). Notably, at-risk
drinkers perceived that 66% of alters in their network consumed alcohol
at least once a week compared to 43% in light drinkers' networks and
17% in nondrinkers' networks (see Fig. 5).
