We found that 5 wt% of PW in the oil phase was not enough to produce stable emulsions. We assumed, that this amount might not have been sufficient to completely cover the interface with the wax particles and maintain the emulsion stability. Based on W/O emulsion work by Lucassen-Reynders [13] droplet coverage is achieved only if the number of particles is higher than the number of droplets.As can be seen from the data presented in Table 1, the minimum amount of PW required to stabilize emulsions was 10 wt%. It was also the optimum value for maintaining the emulsion with a higher(up to 20 wt%) content of water phase (emulsion with 30% of water destabilized after approximately 60 days after preparation).
