I am writing to express my anger and frustration about the way your Bank has so far dealt with the theft from my account (5322378892), that I reported on the phone and email on Saturday 5th September. As you know, a total of 300,000 baht was stolen from my account after somebody (I strongly suspect it was a Kasikorn Bank employee), hacked my online account. This was done without my knowledge or approval. I am frustrated that despite the severity of the theft, I have not been given a dedicated case number, a dedicated phone number or even a dedicated staff member at your bank to call. All I have been told is that my account has been temporarily frozen and that no investigation can start until I report the theft personally to the police in Thailand. I was told this despite sending you pages and pages of documents that you requested. As you know, the theft took place on Saturday 9th September whilst I was on vacation in the UK. I am still on vacation and I am scheduled to fly back to Thailand today, landing on September 11th. I will report the theft to the police as soon as I can after I land in Thailand. I have previously offered for my sister to report the theft to the police immediately as I was unable to do so. I was simply told by your staff that this was not possible, since I had to report to the police personally and that nobody else could report the theft on my behalf, even if I was out of the country. I am particularly angered because my boss in Phuket went to discuss my situation with the manager of my local Kasikorn branch in Patong, Phuket. Not only was my own branch manager unaware of the theft, but he also said that my sister CAN report the theft. This was then confirmed by a phone call from your bank to my boss 5 minutes after she left the meeting with the branch manager. It was confirmed that my sister COULD have reported the theft immediately on my behalf. Therefore several days of investigation have already been lost, as a result of your bank’s poor communication. I am writing also to let you know how seriously I take this theft. I am shocked that it has been so easy for my online account to be hacked and so much stolen. Your bank obviously has some serious security flaws. My vacation has been ruined by this theft and your bank’s handling of this theft has made it worse. I have instructed my lawyer in Thailand about this matter and I will not hesitate to take the necessary action if your bank’s response to this theft continues to be poor. My confidence in your bank has been broken. The future of my relationship with your bank depends on how my case is dealt with by your staff over the next few days. I trust that you will take this matter seriously and take swift action to replace the money and identify the criminal. In the meantime, I insist that I be given a dedicated phone number and staff member to call so that I can discuss my case easily.Thank you,
