We did report already yesterday about the dangerous situation of a landslide lake being formed upstream the Kraal river. The only barrier for the lake is the landslide material. The population downstream the lake has been evacuated by the army and rescue personnel. Due to the torrential rain in the mountains, the lake level could rise strongly. This is not a dam, so a breakthrough of the landslide lake is not imaginary. The picture below is the first we could see from this lake. The landslide forming the lake can also be seen well. Let’s hope that the villages downstream will not suffer more than they suffered already today.
