To be a leader in the increasingly complex and ever-changing foodservice industry, you must be a skilled culinarian, an astute businessperson, and a creative trendsetter. In the CIA's Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) in Culinary Arts Management degree program, you will gain the ideal management and cultural knowledge for careers in management, or for creating your own business in the future. And, after you complete your CIA associate degree, you can complete this bachelor’s degree program in just 17 months.
After completing your CIA associate degree in culinary arts, in the junior and senior years of this bachelor's degree program you will:
Take business-related courses such as Financial Management, Marketing and Promoting Food, and Foodservice Management.
Explore other countries, cultures, and their foods through language and history courses.
Hone your leadership skills in classes like Psychology of Human Behavior, Leadership and Ethics, and Professional Food Writing.
Have opportunities for in-the-field learning during exciting travel experiences.
Map out your own education plan with a variety of electives and exciting concentrations such as Advanced Wine, Beverage, and Hospitality; American Food Studies: Farm-to-Table Cooking; Asian Cuisine: An Edible Journey from Traditional to Contemporary; Intrapreneurship: Driving Innovation from Within an Organization; and Latin Cuisine Studies: New World Flavors, Ingredients, and Techniques.

With a CIA bachelor's degree, you don’t just have a foot in the door-you have thousands of feet in the door. Our alumni are an accomplished, supportive network throughout the industry, whatever your career goals. You can:
Advance in the kitchen to become a sous chef, executive chef, or chef/owner.
Advance outside the kitchen to become a restaurateur/business owner, food and beverage manager, or restaurant/hotel chain executive.
Lead as a media personality, food writer, research chef, or culinary educator.
