We demonstrated a simple, eco-friendly and scalable approach
to prepare NR composites with 3D conductive network via the
renewable CNC-mediated assembly of graphene nanosheets in
NR latex. The assembled conductive structure played a key role
to improve electric conductivity and mechanical properties of
NR/graphene composites. Furthermore, the unique “fragile” but
effective conductive network with low percolation threshold facilitated
the disconnection and reestablishment of conductive paths
under the stimulation of organic solvents, exhibited high resistivity
responses and good reproducibility. This work offers not only
a feasible approach to enhance electric conductivity and mechanical
properties of conductive NR composites but also an extremely
simple model system for high performance sensing materials with
superior resistivity responses for organic liquids.
