The eight hotels hope new and existing hotel supply, mainly five-star facilities, will this year attract a 10% rise in the meetings and incentives market.
Mr Daecha said the Asian tourist market had surpassed Europeans in Thailand. Asian tourists can travel all year long, while Europeans tend to be restricted to more seasonal journeys.
The average room rate for a five-star riverside hotels is 5,000 to 6,000 baht a night, much cheaper than riverside hotels in other popular counties.
"The tourism boom and other positive factors will help us to upgrade our room rate," Mr Daecha said.
Klaus Sennik, general manager of the Ramada Plaza Bangkok Menam Riverside and a BRMP representative, said the group would soon sign an agreement with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to organise the Rak Chao Phraya River project aimed at boosting awareness of river conservation.
Among the hotel's own projects is an upgrade of its river pier, development of an outdoor terrace and organising events for special occasions such as Loy Krathong, Valentine's Day and New Year.
