Consultation begins on reinstatement of Hope Street bus
Added: 22 May 2015
PTV is beginning community consultation on the reinstatement of the Route 509 Hope Street bus in Brunswick.
The Hope Street bus service was cancelled in 2012 due to low passenger numbers, however the service provided a valued link for local residents to access local shops and services.
PTV is now engaging with the community about a new bus service which will run once more along Hope Street, but will be extended to run along Sydney Road as far as Moreland Station.
PTV is interested in hearing from local residents to better understand how they want to use the bus service.
A survey can be filled out online.
Surveys will also be dropped into letterboxes along and around Hope Street.
There will be two PTV pop-up information hubs:
Saturday 30 May at Sparta Place Brunswick, from 11am to 1pm
Friday 5 June outside Brunswick Baptist Church, 491 Sydney Road, Brunswick from 11am to 1pm.
Visitors will be able to fill out the survey, ask questions of PTV staff and learn more about the proposed new service.
PTV is working to have the service up and running by the end of the year and is urging locals to take advantage of the consultation period, which will close on 15 June 2015.
