Phanthai Norasing Shrine is a shrine in Samut Sakhon Province, Thailand. It was built by the King of Ayutthaya, Phra Chao Suea, to commemorate his coxswain, whom he had to execute for the royal barge accident that took place on the Khlong Khok Kham canal.
When negotiating a sharp bend of the Khlong Khok Kham canal, Phanthai Norasing caused the barge to hit a tree branch, causing its prow to break. Although he was forgiven, in keeping with feudal custom, the steerman begged to be executed for the accident. He was thus put to death on the spot.
After his death, the king built the shrine as a memorial to Phanthai Norasing, holding him as a man of integrity. The Khlong Mahachai canal was later built to avoid the sharp curves of Khlong Khok Kham.
