Dear Pleng,
I enjoyed reading about your life. You're so lucky to have such a loving family. I think it's the most important thing a person can have.
Here's the second assignment.
Assignment # 2
Writing is about answering the questions the reader wants to ask, so sometimes we can make notes on the things that we think the reader might want to ask. If you want to tell someone about your hometown, you might think about three questions they might want to know.
1. Where is it?
2. What’s it like? ( describe it)
3. What can someone do there?
If I make notes for these questions I can soon make an paragraph. Imagine that I come from Pattaya, then my notes would look like this
1. East of Thailand/ 90 minutes from Bangkok / bus.
2. It’s a seaside town/ beaches/ pubs/ discos/ restaurants
3. You can/ go swimming/ walk on the beach/ snorkel/ eat seafood/ go to a disco/
Now it becomes easy to write. Look below:
I come from Pattaya. Pattaya is a seaside town in the east of Thailand. It’s about 90 minutes from Bangkok by car. There are many beaches, and there are some little islands nearby. There are also lots of pubs and discos. In the morning you can go swimming in the sea or go snorkeling near one of the small islands. In the evening you can have dinner in one of the seafood restaurants, and then walk along the beach and enjoy the sunset or the walking street and watch the people. It is a great place to spend a few days.
Actually I am not from Pattaya, but I can do the same for any city, for example Manchester.
I come from Shreveport. Shreveport is a medium-sized city in northwest Louisiana. It’s about a 7 hour drive from New Orleans. It's surrounded by farms, but there are many modern conveniences, such as shopping centers. Shreveport also has a very good nightlife. There are many restaurants, pubs, and nightclubs. During the day you can go shopping or go to a farmers' market, and in the evening, you can eat out or go dancing. It isn’t a beautiful city, but it is very exciting.
I would love to read about your hometown.
Make notes and then write it and send it to me, please. I really look forward to reading about it.
Regards,
Sam
