The research team became involved in the project during the planning year and helped the school plan the implementation and evaluation of the project. Specifically, the district decided to implement the Integrating Technology for Inquiry (NTeQ) model (Morrison & Lowther, 2005) as the approach for integrating the laptops. For this chapter, we are defining the technology innovation as consisting of two components — (a) introduction of laptop computers to the class and (b) the teacher training in hov to integrate the technology into the classroom. The following is a brief description of the activities related to the implementation of the project.
