The functions of port have already changed from traditional loading and unloading to international warehousing, logistics and distribution. The port must thus provide full and integrated functions that include transportation, logistics, distribution, reprocessing and transshipments for shipper customers in order to increase port competitiveness and value. In order to provide such integrated services, Kaohsiung Port must adjust its current land allocation strategy to develop a free trade processing zone and assist shippers to develop their global logistics networks.
