of a methyl-transferring reaction, forming methyl-S-CoM in
both acetoclastic methanogens and hydrogenotrophic methanogens
(Fig. 1) [12,13]. Co is also contained in the coenzyme F420
(8-hydroxy-5-deazaflavin), which was reported to be found in
hydrogenotrophic methanogens
