In April 2012 the Thai government announced its Renewable and Alternative Energy Development Plan (AEDP: 2012 - 2021), which will boost the share of renewable energies out of its total energy consumption from 10% in 2012 to 25% by 2021, and which it has been moving forward with. The AEDP 2012 - 2021 was revised thereafter, and in June 2013 its target figure for biogas power generation in 2021 was raised from 600MW to 3,600MW.
